Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed is a classic work for those seeking to morph education into a transformative social force. This workshop seeks to explore how imperative the text is in the literary world and how we can practice it in our everyday life. Sham is the co-founder of A is for Activism, A is for Activism is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization that started as a book club and morphed into a community organisation. Sham is a Baghdad born Masters in Law graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Development. She teaches English to refugee children in her local centre and believes in love being at the core of everything they do.
